Welcome back!

Since Amazon launched their Kindle ebook reader the ebook has seen an incredible rebirth climaxing in the announcement that their Kindle digital download sales had eclipsed both their hardback and paperback sales combined.

In 2009 Apple launched the iPad tablet which brought with it the iBook app marketplace. iBook also appeared on the iPhones and iPods putting their ebook marketplace at the fingertips of around 50 million and rising users.

Other ebook readers have joined the party such as Barnes and Noble’s Nook , Sony eReader as well as Kobo in Canada and soon Waterstones in the UK.

With a huge, expanding mainstream marketplace how can  information publishers and Internet Marketers take advantage of this opportunity?

There are plenty of Publish on Demand platforms out there that can help you publish and distribute your books.

Lulu is probably the most well know of POD (publish on demand) services with a range of add on support services such as marketing, proofreading, design and editing.

Fastpencil also offers publish on demand but with a unique book writing wizard that templates the process to produce professional standard book creation. These two will also be able to publish your content as physical paperback or hardback as well as an ebook.

Smashwords give authors a route to a wide range of platforms including the ipad, Nook, Kobo and soon the Kindle.

A more direct approach can be taken using the Kindle Direct Publishing Platform for Amazon’s digital marketplace or Nook’s PubIt!

Publishing ebooks onto the mainstream ebook platforms or indeed physical books through publish on demand is a great way to raise your expert status. I know of quite a few that take their books when they meet clients and it really does impress.

Your books should also be used as a lead generator to bring people into your funnel through your list building and back-end products and services. Always make your readers an offer in the book!
